Editor’s Explanatory Notes
Ⅰ.Xinjiang Statistical Yearbook-2012 is an annual statistic
publication of comprehensive information with highly density. The yearbook
covers very comprehensive data in 2011 and some selected data series in
important years and the data since reform and opening of Xinjiang, reflects various
aspects of Xinjiang’s social and economic development
and included the whole nation and provinces 2011 main statistical data.
Ⅱ.The yearbook
comprises such sections as: Special Article (Statistical Communique
on National Economy and Social Development of Xinjiang
Uygur Autonomous Region in the year 2011); general
survey; national accounts; population and employment; investment in fixed
assets; government finance, financial intermediation and insurance; price
indices; people’s livelihood and social security; general survey of cities;
natural resources and environment protection; agriculture; industry;
construction; transport, post and telecommunication services; wholesale &
retail trades, hotels and catering services; production and consumption of
energy; foreign trade & economic cooperation and tourism; education,
science & technology and culture; sports, public health and others; ranking
of main economic indicators by region of Xinjiang;
appendix (ranking of main economic indicators by region),etc. Each section is
equipped with Explanatory Notes on Main Statistical Indicators at the end.
Ⅲ. The
Yearbook of sources are mostly from the annual
financial statements, in part from the sample survey data.
Ⅳ.The units of
measurement used in this yearbook are internationally standard measurement
units.
Ⅴ.The
computation of all the indicators in the yearbook is equipped with current
prices.
Ⅵ.The data
about
Ⅶ.Description
of signs or symbols in the yearbook:
“#”stands for
interim item; “…” for data with insufficient decimal place;
“blank” for absence of data indicators or ignorance of them.
Ⅷ.In the course of complication, the yearbook has received great support from many units and comrades in and out of Autonomous Region, we acknowledge their help to the book. Mistakes and faults are inevitable to take place for inadequate proficiency and limited time. Leaders, personnel from all walks of life and colleagues from statistical sector are welcome to make their critical comments and suggestions.
