Explanatory Notes
Ⅰ. Xinjiang Statistical
Yearbook-2007 (in both Chinese and English) is an annual statistic publication
of comprehensive information with highly density. The yearbook covers very
comprehensive data in 2006 and some selected data series in important years and
the data since reform and opening of Xinjiang,reflects various aspects of Xinjiang’s
social and economic development.
Ⅱ. The yearbook comprises such
sections as: Special Article (Statistical Communique
on National Economy and Social Development of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
in the year 2007); general survey;
national accounts; population and employment; investment in fixed assets;government finance,financial
intermediation and insurance; price indices; people’s livelihood and social security;general survey of cities;natural
resources and environment protection;agriculture;industry;
construction; transport, post and telecommunication services;wholesale
& retail trades,hotels and catering services;
production and consumption of energy;foreign trade
& economic cooperation and tourism;education,science
& technology and culture;sports,public health and
others; enterprises group and prosperity index on enterprises;ranking
of main economic indicators by region of Xinjiang; appendix (ranking of main
economic indicators by region),etc.Each section is
equipped with Explanatory Notes on Main Statistical Indicators at the end.
Ⅲ.Compared with the China
Statistical Yearbook 2007,some changes are made in
contents and in editing mode, including the following:
1)The chapter concered in this yearbook
have been adjusted.Data on divisions of
administrative concluded in the chapter of general survey,data
on natural resources concluded in the chapter of natural resources and
environment protection and data on social security concluded in the chapter of
people’s living conditions and social security.
2)In the chapter of
people’s livelihood and social security,there are new
tables on leave office for rest,retire and related fees.in the chapter of industry increased production
capacity of major industrial products.
3)In order to
reflect economic and social development since reform and opening of Xinjiang
30,in the chapter of general survey,there are new
tables on data on 1978.
Ⅳ. The units of measurement used in
this yearbook are internationally standard measurement units.
Ⅴ. The computation of all the
indicators in the Yearbook is equipped with current prices.
VI. The data about
Ⅶ. Description of signs or symbols
in the yearbook:
“# ”stands for interim item; “…” for data with insufficient decimal place; “blank” for absence
of data indicators or ignorance of them.
Ⅷ. In the course of compilation, the yearbook has received great support from many units and comrades in and out of Autonomous Region, we acknowledge their help to the book. Mistakes and faults are inevitable to take place for inadequate proficiency and limited time. Leaders, personnel from all walks of life and colleagues from statistical sector are welcome to make their critical comments and suggestions.
