11. Agriculture

Main content and source of data

The data in this chapter show the basic conditions of agricultural production and rural economy in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, including mainly rural grassroots units rural population, rural employed labor force, basic conditions of township enterprises, statistic on forest products, cultivated land, gross output value farming, forest, animal husbandry and fishery, output of major farm products and condition on the township enterprises, ect.

Statistics on agriculture cover all agriculture production activities expect horse raising for military purpose and activities undertaken by agriculture research institutions. Included in agriculture statistics are production activities in crop cultivation, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery undertaken by rural economic units of various types and by rural households, production activities of farms specializing in crop cultivation, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery undertaken by rural economic units of various types and by rural households, production activities of farms specializing in crop cultivation, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery; production activities undertaken by government agencies, institutions, schools and military units, production activities in agriculture undertaken by collective farms run by townships and villages, and production activities in crop cultivation, forest, animal husbandry and fishery undertaken by manufacturing and mining enterprises.

Data on this chapter are provided by the Xinjiang Bureau of Water Resources except 11-10,11-11,11-12,the data on table 11-27 are provided by the Xinjiang Bureau of Civil Affairs. the data on the township enterprises are from the Xinjiang Bureau of Township Enterprises. Others are provided by the Department of Rural statistics, Xinjiang Bureau of Statistics.
