4.Population and Employment

Main content and sources of data

Data in this chapter show the basic condition of population, employment, wages of staff and workers, family planning. Data of population mainly include the condition of population by whole region, prefecture, autonomous prefecture, city, country and Xinjiang Production and Construction Group, and the data of 5 population census.

The data on household registered population are provided by Municipal Bureau of Public Security of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region; Data on family planning come from Municipal Family Planning Commission. Data on unemployment are provided by Bureau of Labor and Social Security. Total region population are estimated by the Department of Population and Social Science Technology Statistics of the Xinjiang Bureau of Statistics in accordance with the annual national sample survey on population changes in 2006;The data of population census, employment and wages are provided by the Department of Population and Social Science and Technology Statistic of the Xinjiang Bureau of Statistics.
