When he was being held in China for no reason from 2017 to 2019, his 12-year-old son whom he took to Kazakhstan to study had to live on his own, especially after his grandmother who was taking care of him after Dusienbek was called back to China, passed away on November 3, 2018, because of all this unfairness. She had witnessed family separation in the 1960s and could not hold this time. As he failed to go back to China within two months leaving his son again alone here in Kazakhstan, his pension was halted. Now they transferred his pension to a social security card (社保卡) which he cannot withdraw here. His wife is still in China.
