He was taken back to Ghulja from the Urumqi airport in May 2017, having just returned from Turkey, and would later be taken to camp. He was released from the camp that same year because of serious health issues, and would receive treatment at the hospital. Then, on September 22, 2018, he was taken to camp again, with no news since. Testimony 2: He was taken back to Ghulja from the Urumchi airport when he got back from Turkey in 2016. In 2017, he was released from camp because of heavy illness and received treatment in the hospital. Then, on September 22, 2018, he was taken to camp again, with no news since.

Testimony 4: At some point in 2017, he returned home from Turkey after he and Alimjan Turdi learnt that their mother was ill. Elzat Eli was arrested as soon as he landed in China.
