Ironically, He appeared on State propaganda video on November 2019 (http://www.globaltimes.cn/content/1170249.shtml ), forced to speak against his sister's son Alfred Erkin ,part of Chinese government's campaign to discredit Alfred's testimony about his arbitrarily detained parents (in the video, he expresses ‘disappointment’ towards Arafat saying that he should be ashamed of ‘posting rumours online’, focus on studying and serve China when he comes back.)
