chronology of detention(s)

According to Dilnur's post, he was taken to camp in April 2018.

The Radio Free Asia report about his case specifies this as April 24, 2018, while Merhaba says in her video testimony that he was arrested on April 29. According to his brother, Tursunhoja, he was held in two different facilities (one in the Shuiding Municipality and one in Boz [the Ghulja City Detention Center], both close to Ghulja City).

According to Merhaba, he was tried in a closed trial on October 8, 2019, with the authorities saying that they would only make the verdict known 3 months later. Originally, they had said that there would be a trial on October 11, 2019 and that two family members would be allowed to attend.

According to Dilnur, however, he was released, some two years after his initial detention.

suspected and/or official reason(s) for detention

According to Dilnur's post, for visiting his son in Turkey and for having previously made a pilgrimage to Mecca (in 1999).

According to Radio Free Asia, he was accused of being inclined to Pan-Turkism because he used the name "Taksim".
