Taken into custody on April 28, 2017. Transferred to a re-education camp on July 16 of the same year.

On September 28, 2018, she was released [presumably because of health reasons] and admitted to a rescue unit in a hospital two days later. On November 15, 2018, neighborhood officials were informed that Patigul had been staying in the hospital for a total of 53 days, which was over the maximum allowed time of 50 days. The hospital reported that she could still be allowed to stay for a week at most, and that relatives should come to the hospital and go through the check-out procedures. The hospital reported that Patigul's health was "very bad", but nevertheless suggested treatment at home. The camp authorities allowed Patigul to be released home for a monitoring period of 10 days, after which a decision on whether she should be returned to camp would be made, based on her health at that time.
