Testimony 2: Local government employee, as reported by Radio Free Asia Uyghur. (from same town/region)

about the victim

His name is Ubul Sidiq. He is about 66 years old and he was retired principal of Chapchal Central Primary School. After his retirement, he moved to Qariway community in Ghulja City [presumably 喀拉瓦依买里]. He was detained in 2018 because of "a mistake" on his phone, but as the mistake was a technical problem, no one, including Ubul Sidiq, knows what the real problem was. According to a person from Chapchal, now lives overseas, when one of his students visited Ubul Sidiq, she helpd him installed Wechat on his phone; in the process, the student knowingly or unknowingly used a software that was banned or saw information that was banned and this was the reason of his detention. When he was interrogated, he was asked about Kuai Ya (快牙) each time, and this was the cause of his detention. He was kept in a camp set up at a party school and later was transferred to a camp in hydroelectric power station.
