Ehmetjan Momin (Tarimi) did his PhD studies at Nanjing University, and holds a doctorate degree in history and theology. He was the director and senior editor at the historical cultures department of the Xinjiang People's Press.
He is a well known academic, and has authored two books, "Discussion of the Study of Uyghur History" and "Uchturpan: The Ancient Land of the Silk Road". He has published more than 40 academic articles. Additionally, he has translated more than 30 books into Uyghur, including the "General History of the World". Exmetjan Momin Tarimi. He was an academic editor at the Xinjiang People's Press. He is currently in detention and situation is unknown.
