chronology of detention(s)
The start date of his earlier sentence is reported as September 4, 2010, which should in principle be the date of his initial detention. He was officially criminally detained by the national-security branch of the municipal public security bureau on October 7, 2010. On June 4, 2012, he was sentenced to 6 years in prison, with release scheduled for September 3, 2016. He was transferred to Changji Prison on August 14, 2012.
As of late 2017, he had been sentenced to 13 years and 11 months in prison. [Presumably, he finished his first sentence and was soon detained again, to be sentenced anew.]As of 2017-2018, the victim was listed, together with approximately 8000 other people, as belonging to the WASFRY group (危安释放人员, or "endangering (state) security released persons"). All of these people were specified as being entered into the iTap surveillance system on July 27, 2017. [It is assumed that the victim was initially detained at some point before 2017, as the seriousness of the charge makes it very unlikely that they were both detained and released in 2017 or later. It is not known if the victim was detained again after their release, though this is likely if they were in the region in 2017-2018, as many of the people in the list have sensitive (red/orange-level) police tags, and as WASFRY is itself an orange-level tag.]

suspected and/or official reason(s) for detention
For the earlier detention, he was criminally detained as a suspect in an "endangering state security" case. His "reason for punishment" (处置原因) was given as "separatism" (分裂国家).
More recently, he was sentenced for "using extremism to undermine law enforcement" (利用极端主义破坏法律实施罪) and "picking quarrels and provoking trouble" (寻衅滋事罪).[Presumably for "endangering state security", given the victim's membership in the WASFRY list.]
Testimony 3: Criminally detained as a suspect in an "endangering state security" case. His "reason for punishment" (处置原因) is given as "separatism" (分裂国家).
Testimony 4: More recently sentenced for "using extremism to undermine law enforcement" (利用极端主义破坏法律实施罪) and "picking quarrels and stirring up trouble" (寻衅滋事罪).
last reported status
In prison.
[There is the likelihood that he is subjected to forced labor, as the Shayar Tarim Runcheng Farming and Livestock LLC (沙雅塔里木润城农牧有限责任公司) operates out of Shayar Prison.]Not specified. [There is a very high likelihood of the victim being in detention - given the sensitivity of the WASFRY tag, given many people on the WASFRY list having other sensitive tags, and given the majority of the better documented victims in the list being reported as detained in the post-2017 period also. However, it is also possible that the victim left the region/country prior to the mass incarcerations of 2017-2018, and thereby escaped detention.]
