Testimony 1: However, Dilshat Reshit of the World Uyghur Congress has found Tahirjan to have been filmed in a different video that was published by Xinhua News in July 2020, where Tahirjan talks about him running a live music bar and a real estate company in Hotan. In this video, he claims to have graduated from Fudan University. Dilshat points to inconsistencies in the two videos: in the July 2020 video, Tahirjan claims to have graduated from Fudan University 15 years ago and opening a real estate company after returning to Hotan. (Testimony 2: However, in the conference, Tahirjan said he opened the company after graduating from the re-education camp.) Dilshat believes that this, along with the fact that a Fudan graduate is unlikely to be in need of any training in Mandarin, proves Tahirjan’s conference testimony to be false.
