Unspecified individuals from Gulnisa Memet's village reportedly told her about "courses" that would help eradicate her alleged "extreme thoughts" and also help her to develop more skills. Gulnisa Memet "wanted to have a try" and, according to the article, she "attended classes at the vocational education and training center in eastern Kashgar and graduated after 17 months in March 2019."
