Testimony 2:
Testimony 3:
Testimony 4:
Dilnur Mesum was the principal of the Hotan Langru Secondary School. She also taught Chinese language.
Testimony 2: she originally majored in computers, but became a teacher because she spoke good Mandarin, before to moving to work in the school office. After around ten years of office work, she was promoted to the position of principal of the Hotan Langry Secondary School (to be arrested less than half a year later).
current location
[Unclear, as sentenced.]
chronology of detention(s)
Dilnur Mesum was arrested at some point in 2018 (Testimony 3: December) and subsequently sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment in connection with a WeChat message relating to halal food which was sent in 2013.
[It is unclear if Dilnur Mesum was the one who sent the message in question, or if she was merely one of multiple people who received the said message. Abduweli Ayup's list of detained Uyghur intellectuals mentions one individual who was imprisoned in connection with receiving a WeChat message about halal food in 2013 (namely Tahir Mesum, former deputy director of the Hotan Education Bureau). Based on this, it is plausible that Dilnur Mesum was also arrested for receiving the message in question, rather than sending it herself.]
suspected and/or official reason(s) for detention
Dilnur Mesum was detained for either receiving or sending a WeChat message relating to halal food in 2013.
last reported status
Dilnur Mesum was sentenced to 15 years of imprisonment at some point after her arrest in 2018 and is presumably in prison.
