Chairman of Aksu Prefecture's Discipline Inspection Commission Wang Zhihua met with Mijit and other local leaders for a Chinese New Year's dinner in 2018. In one picture, Wang is seen presenting Mijit with a congratulatory red envelope. In another, Wang is giving a toast and all the guests (including Mijit) are drinking as well (though it seems the liquid in Mijit's hand is tea). Wang reportedly said "Drinking alcohol is an important custom during the Lunar New Year.
