Unclear, but the victim's niece Mahira was formally (re-)detained in April 2019 and was later indicted in 2020 on the same charges.

Testimony 5: The Ili Prefecture People's Procuratorate sent her a document in August 16, 2019 accusing her of "being suspected of funding terrorist activities" (for sending money to relatives in Australia on July 3, 2013, via the local Ghulja City Bank of China, to help them buy a house).
